Deep Tissue Sculpting

Deep Tissue Sculpting is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Sculpting is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to insure a proper level of comfort. Keep in mind that this form of bodywork tends to release toxins from the tissues that can resettle and cause soreness after the treatment. Plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy is the science of understanding the mechanisms of soft tissue pain and the art of restoring balanced musculoskeletal functioning relieving pain and disfunction.
Hypertonic or overly tightened and shortened muscles (from overuse, abuse or injury etc.) can cause postural distortions due to physiological changes in the soft tissues of the joints and spinal column which can lead to pain and restricted movement. Using various soft tissue techniques NMT assists and speeds the body's own natural ability to heal itself and recover from sports, work and everyday injuries.

Orthopedic Massage

Orthopedic massage is a type of massage therapy usually using a unique combination of several modalities that focuses on soft-tissue injuries and complicated pain issues common among the general population.  Occasional activities such as sports, hobbies (gardening, arts & crafts etc.), occupational duties requiring repetitive use and even improper exercise can often lead to pain and injuries in both the short and long term. This modality uses specifically targeted neuromuscular techniques like trigger point therapy and deep frictioning combined with deep tissue sculpting, hot and cold therapies and careful stretching techniques to restore proper function, eliminate pain and speed the bodies natural healing process.

Myoskeletal Alignment

The goal of Myoskeletal Alignment is to create homeostasis by restoring the bodies own inborn ability to be healthy. By utiizing specific hands on maneuvers that stimulate the fascia's sensory receptor system the Myoskeletal techniques help to reshape and restore elasticity and range of motion to restricted muscles, ligaments and joint capsules that control, support and restrain spinal motion.                                    Erik Dalton, Freedom From Pain Institute

Joe Sweeney is an advanced Myoskeletal Therapist and holds a level 2 certification in Advanced Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques.

A note from Joe: This modality uses many complex, well learned and self created techniques by Erik that are uniquely designed to be easy on the client while restoring proper posture and movement eliminating pain, reducing injury and improving structural function.

*Somewhat similar to Rolfing without the pain or commitment to 10 or more sessions.

Sensory Repatterning

Sensory Repatterning is a form of bodywork that taps into the rythm of the individual that is receiving. It consists of gentle rocking and range of motion movements aimed at relaxing, rebalancing and releasing the bodies subconscious holding patterns by spreading awareness to all the cells of the body. These holding patterns keep our muscles tense and limit the bodies ability to heal itself during a normal relaxed state. This modality is done fully dressed, in comfortable clothing and tends to put you into a deeply relaxed state.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
